z. 7 – 10 aka – English Brown Turkey
Tried and true, with a long proven history, Brown Turkey performs well on the coast. Large purple -brown figs with amber – coloured interior. Sweet and rich flavoured, fine -grained figs. Tree is productive and handles cold temperatures better than most fig varieties. Brown Turkey and Desert King are the two most common types of fig trees grown on the coast. This variety makes a good container tree. Large ‘breba’ (first) crop.
We recommend that you plant this tree in a protected spot; then mulch fairly heavily around its base and finally protect it with a burlap wrap in mid-Winter for the first few years.
All Fig Trees are large 1-gal size plants.
