Japanese Raisin Tree is a beautiful, cold-hardy and interesting Asian tree that produces a pear-flavoured fruit (technically a pedicle) that can be dried to resemble raisins. Fruiting is best in a sunny and warm spot. A honey-like extract can be pressed from the fresh fruit. Amaze your neighbours with jars of ‘Tree Honey’.
The white blossoms are sweetly fragrant. It is suggested that the fruit be stored for 2 months to bring out a sweeter flavour.
