z. 6 – 9
Giant Sequoia is a beautiful, fast-growing and relatively cold-hardy evergreen. The world’s largest tree; native to only a few groves in the Sierra Mountains of California. Sequoia is easy to grow as long as you have a moist, well-drained soil and it doesn’t get too cold. Said to be deer resistant, this tree will rapidly grow to 70′ – 80′ and then slow down for the long haul. There are specimens over 3200 years old, over 300′ tall, and over 35′ circumference around its’ base. Grow a Giant Sequoia to experience, first-hand, the majestic presence of the natural world.
