z. 7 – 10
Large, tawny-yellow figs with strawberry-pink flesh. Sweet and very rich flavour. Large, handsome and vigorous tree handling cold and wet weather in Winter. Grown in the Pacific Northwest for over 100 years. Perhaps a bit shy-bearing but the figs are large and delicious – consistently winning taste-tests on the coast. The tree framework is very architecturally pleasing, making this variety a nice choice for a front lawn.
If growing this tree in the ground on the West Coast, we recommend that you plant this tree in a sunny and protected spot; then mulch fairly heavily around its’ base. Finally, protect it with a burlap wrap in mid-winter for the first few years.
All Fig Trees are large 1-gallon size plants.
